The deal
Last updated 5 September 2026
These terms govern your use of Inkstone, operated by Extrafemi Labs (“we”, “us”). By signing in you agree to them. If you're accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you're authorised to do so.
1. What Inkstone does
Inkstone drafts long-form content on a topic you supply or it suggests, and runs every draft through a sourcing and grounding gate — sources are tiered, unsupported figures are dropped or flagged, and citations are link-checked. It is a drafting aid. It does not publish anything, and it is not a substitute for editorial judgement or fact-checking.
2. Your account
- Sign-in is by one-time code to your email. Keep access to that inbox secure.
- A workspace tied to a company domain is for that company's team. Don't use an address you're not entitled to use.
- You're responsible for what's done under your account.
3. Your content
You keep all rights in the writing samples you add and the drafts you generate. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service — to store your samples, analyse them to build your voice guide, and generate and store drafts for you. We don't use your content to train models, and we don't share it except with the sub-processors listed in the Privacy notice for the purpose of running Inkstone.
You confirm you have the right to upload each sample you add, and that doing so doesn't breach anyone else's rights or a confidentiality obligation.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Inkstone to:
- produce content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringing;
- generate deliberate misinformation, or strip the sourcing gate's flags and present unverified claims as checked;
- attempt to extract another workspace's data, or probe, overload, or reverse-engineer the service;
- upload text designed to manipulate the model (prompt injection) — this is screened, but attempting it is a breach.
5. The integrity guardrails
The sourcing gate, the no-fabrication rule, the grounding check, the 24-hour hold on breaking news, source labelling, and link verification are fixed. They are not configurable by any user in any workspace. You can shape the writing voice, the tone, and the phrasing; you cannot switch off the checks.
6. Third-party models
Drafting uses language models provided via OpenRouter. Their availability, output quality and latency are outside our control. If you connect your own model key, usage is billed to your provider account on your provider's terms.
7. Availability
Inkstone is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and free-tier model pools in particular can be slow or unavailable at peak times.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit or data, or for any decision made or content published on the basis of an Inkstone draft without independent review. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law. Your use of any draft — including checking its facts before publication — is your responsibility.
9. Ending your use
You can delete your account any time from the in-app menu. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, and will tell you why where we can.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the last change, and we'll flag material changes by email. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
